Wynn wants to partner with locals

Will add to Everett casino’s ‘general appeal’

LAS VEGAS CASINO DEVELOPER Steve Wynn said on Wednesday that his company is courting “local personalities” to operate food and beverage operations at the $2.1 billion hotel/casino complex under construction in Everett.

Speaking to analysts after releasing the company’s third-quarter earnings report, Wynn revealed that his company will partner with locals, which is not a common practice at Wynn Resorts properties.

“We’ve been able to interest some very substantial local personalities with various forms of food and beverage and we’re in the process of making room for them to join in so the facility is very local-oriented at the top end with the kinds of people that are very popular in Boston,” he said. “We think that adds to our general appeal as we go forward.”

Wynn provided no additional details and a company spokesman had little to add. “We are in the very early stage of that process and don’t have any details to announce yet,” said Michael Weaver, the company’s senior vice president of marketing  and communications, in an email.
