CommonWealth is published by MassINC, a nonprofit organization that receives funding from foundations, corporate sponsors, and individual donors. The organization is overseen by a board composed of individuals from across the nonprofit and private sectors. As a benefit of sponsorship, some donors opt to advertise through CommonWealth magazine.
