THE MBTA IS $6 million richer after selling a 1.75-acre parcel of land to Wynn Resorts for the preferred entrance to its planned $1.7 billion casino-hotel complex in Everett.
The deal has been pending for nearly seven months, as the MBTA tried to find out whether anyone else would bid more than Wynn for the property. The deal closed on Tuesday.

The MBTA land figures in lawsuits brought by Revere and Boston challenging the Massachusetts Gaming Commission’s award of the eastern Massachusetts casino license to Wynn. The cities claim Wynn
failed to obtain the land within a 60-day window after being awarded the casino license.
As part of the land deal, T spokesman Joe Pesaturo said Wynn will design and build a new entrance to the MBTA repair facility.
